what to expect of the conference
Trialogue’s annual Making CSI Matter conference is designed to provide a multi-stakeholder platform for the ongoing advancement and promotion of leading CSI and development practice. Importantly, the conference provides a unique opportunity for roleplayers from the corporate, government and NGO sectors, to engage with and learn from one another, and to explore common-ground.
The two day conference will offer a series of elements, providing sponsors and delegates with plentiful opportunities for profiling, learning and sharing. Trialogue continually strives to enhance the offering at these annually events whether in the area of content, speakers, facilities and overall professionalism.
Lead thinking and practise
Foremost, Trialogue strives to continuously provide the leading thinking, research and case-studies in CSI and development. In order to achieve this objective at the 2011 Making CSI Matter conference Trialogue will, not only draw from its own wealth of CSI experience, but will engage with content partners, specialised and working within selected development sectors.
Content specialists
Key organisations that undertake a forum, umbrella or research role within specific development sectors will partner Trialogue for this event. Their role as specialists will be to further add to the pool of credible research and thought-leadership within each area.
Participatory workshops
This fourth event will open up opportunities for delegates to explore, at an in-depth level, the CSI and development practices within specific development sectors and latest topical issues. Parallel workshops will provide a strong focus on participatory mechanisms and engagement with the objectives of learning and sharing being paramount. Each of the participatory workshops will focus on a development sector, or issues from a CSI angle.
Development sectors that will be focused on in these participatory workshops will include: education; health and HIV/Aids; social and community development; enterprise and entrepreneurial development and potentially food security.
Feedback of outcomes
Importantly, content partners will take the findings and outputs from the conference engagement workshops back into their field. This will ensure that the learnings serve the practical purpose of enhancing the work done in each sector. Further, this mechanism will ensure that the conference is never just a talk shop but provides practical and useful contributions back into the CSI industry and development arena.
Exhibition and display stands
A dedicated exhibition area will provide sponsors and other interested parties with the opportunity to display and profile their activities, products and services in the development space.
Evening cocktails, networking and entertainment
The upcoming 2011 Making CSI Matter conference will hold a cocktail session on the evening of day one, Tuesday 24th May, providing delegates with a valuable opportunity to interact with others in the industry and enjoy the drinks, snacks and entertainment. Once again, this promises to be an enjoyable occasion.
We are in the process of finalising the programme of events, presenters and facilitators for the 2011 Making CSI Matter conference. As soon as possible, we will update this page with the full itinerary – Watch this space!
